1968 Porsche 911 L Soft Window Targa Irish Green (6806) with Black Leatherette interior. Matching Chassis (number 11860034) and engine (number 3080086). Certificate of Authenticity on hand which indicates that the Car was built 8.9.1967 and is the 34th example produced which makes this a very early production 911 L Soft Window.The COA also shows that the car was fitted new with Ventilated Chrome Wheels and Phoenix Tires.It was purchased new in Germany as a US model and most of the cars life was spent in California where it was purchased by a Porsche Collector 3 years ago with a dry non-rusty body only needing mechanical/interior refreshing. The whole car was completely restored with every system being gone thru (including total replacement of all soft window components) on the car to bring it to the current spectacular condition. There are receipts for all the work including the engine dyno run after the engine was rebuilt.
In a wonderfully restored condition this car would make a great addition to a Porsche collection or just as a great special car. The Soft Window Option really creates the feeling of open air motoring making this car a real joy to drive. Normally 1968 US Spec 911 L cars are equipped with side markers, we have new markers, but chose not to install them for aesthetic reasons,they can easily be put on. Also the sunvisors are currently not installed. We have not found a number on the tranny case. The 911 L was a one year only model for Porsche and many people consider it a detuned “S”.
