1964 Jaguar XKE Roadster Red with red interior. Two owner car with 44,000 miles Same owner since 1999. The original owner, Maj. M. D. Hilbert, residing at 816 Azalea Drive, Fayetteville, NC purchased it on the 26th of May, 1964. It was built on 4 February 1964 and shipped to Jaguar Cars, New York, on 21 February 1964. It was originally silver grey with red interior and a black top. It is an original, unmolested car with the exception of one repaint about 25 years ago when the color was changed to red. All of the original documentation on the car such as warranty papers, owner’s manual, lubrication chart, etc. It also has the original jack, tool kit, etc. The original set of wire wheels and knock offs which are in very good condition are with the car and currently installed on the car are a set of original style Dayton chrome/stainless steel wires with new knock offs when I put new tires on the car several years ago.A Falcon stainless steel original style exhaust system as well as a Pertronix electronic ignition (of course, the original point set up which could be reinstalled is with the car). The convertible top is in perfect condition and also included is a factory removable hardtop for the car.
The original owner had the car for 35 years and reluctantly decided to sell it when he reached a point in his life where he was no longer able to drive it (he purchased it when he retired in 1964). The car is a very original car with everything in good working order. Even things like the interior light comes on when the doors are opened, the original Lucas headlights are still in the car. This is a car that must be seen to be appreciated if you are looking for a very original car that is still in excellent condition.
